We understand that bringing your pet to the veterinary practice is not always easy. Some pets become anxious when travelling, while others may have mobility difficulties or health conditions that make a clinic visit challenging. At Filey Vets, we understand these concerns and can advise you on whether a home visit may be suitable for your pet. Our aim is to make accessing veterinary care as comfortable and convenient as possible for both you and your pet.
Home visits can be helpful for pets that find travelling stressful or have difficulty getting to the practice. Being examined in familiar surroundings may help some pets feel more relaxed, while allowing owners to discuss their concerns with a veterinary professional at home.
The type of care that can be provided during a home visit depends on your pet’s condition and the examination or treatment required. Some procedures, diagnostic tests and emergencies may require a visit to the practice, where the necessary equipment and facilities are available. Our team can discuss your pet’s needs and advise you on the most appropriate arrangement.
For some pets, visiting a veterinary practice can be stressful. Others may find travelling difficult because of their age, mobility or underlying health conditions. A home visit may offer a more comfortable way to discuss certain health concerns and receive appropriate veterinary advice.
Our team will consider your pet’s circumstances and explain what can be managed during a home visit. If your pet needs additional tests, treatment or facilities that are only available at the practice, we will advise you on the next steps.
Senior pets that struggle with mobility or find travelling uncomfortable may benefit from discussing suitable home-care arrangements with our team.
Some pets become unsettled when travelling or entering unfamiliar environments. A home visit may help make certain consultations less stressful.
Pets that have difficulty walking, getting into a vehicle or travelling comfortably may need alternative arrangements for veterinary assessment.
If bringing your pet to the practice is difficult because of your circumstances, contact our team to discuss whether a home visit can be arranged.
