Good dental health is an important part of your pet’s overall wellbeing. Dental problems can cause pain, discomfort, difficulty eating and other health complications if left untreated. At Filey Vets, we provide veterinary dental care to help keep your pet’s teeth and gums healthy. Our experienced team can assess your pet’s oral health, identify potential problems and recommend appropriate treatment to maintain their comfort and quality of life.
Regular dental examinations help identify problems such as plaque build-up, tartar, inflamed gums, damaged teeth and other oral health concerns. Our veterinary team will assess your pet’s teeth and gums and discuss any recommended treatment based on their individual needs.
Where necessary, dental treatment may involve professional cleaning, removal of tartar or extraction of damaged or diseased teeth. Our priority is to relieve discomfort, support good oral health and ensure your pet receives appropriate care throughout their treatment and recovery.
Looking after your pet’s teeth between veterinary visits can help reduce plaque build-up and support healthy gums. Regular checks at home, appropriate dental care products and professional veterinary advice can all play an important role in maintaining oral health.
Our team can help you understand your pet’s dental needs and recommend suitable home-care practices based on their age, species and individual circumstances.
Persistent unpleasant breath can be a sign of plaque build-up, gum disease or another underlying dental problem that requires veterinary assessment.
Plaque can accumulate on the teeth and harden into tartar. A veterinary dental examination can help determine whether professional cleaning is needed.
Red, swollen or bleeding gums may indicate dental disease and should be assessed by a veterinary professional.
Changes in eating habits, dropping food, chewing on one side or visibly damaged teeth may indicate oral pain and should be checked by a vet.
At Filey Vets, we understand that dental problems can affect your pet’s comfort, appetite and general wellbeing. Our experienced veterinary team takes the time to assess each pet individually, explain any dental concerns and recommend appropriate treatment based on their needs.
We aim to make dental care as comfortable as possible for pets and provide clear guidance to owners throughout the process. From routine oral health assessments to treatment for dental problems, we are here to help you protect your pet’s teeth, relieve discomfort and support their long-term health.
