A Vet on Hand, Whatever the Hour

There’s a particular sort of worry that turns up at nine o’clock on a Sunday evening. Your dog’s gone off his food, or your cat’s licking a paw she’s never bothered with before, and you’re left working out whether it can wait until the morning or whether you ought to be in the car.

VidiVet is there for exactly that moment. It’s a free app that puts you in touch with a registered vet at any hour, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You tell them what’s happening and a vet comes back to you with a short video reply, which stays in the app so you can watch it again later. Your conversation comes back to us too, so whoever sees your pet next already knows what you asked.

Keep using our WhatsApp number on 07480 788343 during opening hours for appointments, repeat prescriptions and food orders. VidiVet is for questions about how your pet actually is, whatever the hour.

VidiVet FAQs

A free app that lets you get advice from a registered vet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You send your question and a vet replies with a short video.

No. It’s free for every Filey Vets client, whether or not you’re on our pet health plan.

Vets registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, the same body every vet in the UK is registered with. They’re VidiVet’s own team rather than ours, so it’ll be a new face, but everything you ask and everything they tell you comes back to us.

Usually within minutes. It isn’t an emergency line though, so if you think something is urgent, ring us instead of waiting on a reply.

Yes. VidiVet fills in the gaps when we’re closed. It doesn’t change how you book, who you see or the care your pet gets here.

That’s absolutely fine. Ring us as you always have. And if you’d like to try it but the technology puts you off, bring your phone in and we’ll set it up for you.

Get Set Up Today

Search for VidiVet in the App Store or on Google Play, download it, then register as a Filey Vets client using the link below.

If phones and apps aren’t your thing, bring yours in with you. Anyone on reception will set it up while you’re here. It takes a couple of minutes, there’s nothing to pay and you don’t need an appointment.

Please note VidiVet is advice rather than treatment. A vet can tell you what they think from what you have described, but they cannot examine your pet or prescribe through the app.

If something is a genuine emergency, don’t wait for a reply. Ring us on 01723 513119 during opening hours. When we’re closed, our out of hours emergency service is provided by Aldgate Veterinary Practice in Bridlington and you should call them directly on 01262 677269.
